+ YOUR STUDY WORLD. YOUR CONTROL.

The privacy bit.
In plain language.

Your study records belong to you. Here’s what happens to them when you use this website.

Last updated 19 October 2026. This page describes the ExamPilot website and browser workspace.

Your records stay in this browser

The workspace saves your tasks, exams, flashcard decks, review choices, completed focus sessions, timer, and preferences in this browser’s local storage. Study records are not sent to an ExamPilot server or an AI provider.

There are no accounts or automatic synchronization. Other browsers, devices, and website addresses have separate storage. Anyone who can access your browser profile may be able to access its records. Local storage is not an independently encrypted vault.

A backup is yours to keep

Use Data & preferences → Export backup in the workspace to download your records as JSON. On a phone, you can also open data controls using Keep a backup at the bottom of the workspace.

Backups are unencrypted. Anyone with the file can read it. Keep a copy somewhere appropriate for the material it contains. Restoring a valid backup replaces the workspace records in that browser after confirmation.

Clearing browser storage, using temporary browsing sessions, or browser storage limits can remove local records. Keep separate backups of anything you need to retain. If a save fails, the workspace displays a notice so you can export the current session.

You choose what to remove

You can edit and delete individual records, remove the labelled examples, or clear all study records through data controls. Removing sample records keeps records you created yourself.

If stored data cannot be read, the workspace offers a recovery download and does not silently replace it. A recovery file preserves the stored text; it is not a guarantee that damaged records can be restored.

A timer, with clear limits

The focus timer calculates its remaining time from saved timestamps. It can recover after navigation or a reload and records a completed focus session once. It does not send push notifications or background alarms. Keep the page open to see the finish.

Website delivery

Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. Hosting requests are handled by Cloudflare separately from study records saved in your browser. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its handling of service data.

This release does not add advertising, third-party tracking scripts, analytics tools, or remotely hosted fonts. It saves local preferences needed for the experience, including reduced motion. Links to other websites open those services under their own policies.

The Android project is separate

The native Android app is in development and has its own storage and optional provider connections. The website does not connect to the app or publish its personal study records. Read the Android preview for the current release status.
